Import Customs Procedures for non EU shipments
All shipments to Bulgaria are subject to a physical Customs inspection, and depending on the contents and the value may require Customs declaration. Shipments with a declared value above 15 € require customs clearance. Clearance requirements vary for shipments to private individuals and to companies( gift shipments from private individual to private individual with value below 45 € are not subject to customs clearance and customs declaration) , and of course for contents and their value. Duties and taxes are based on the Declared Value of the contents, the cost of sending the shipment (based on shipment weight), the cost of any insurance on the shipment. Specific rates for duties and taxes are further defined for the type of good and customs may require additional paperwork from consignee and/or shipper to be provided according to content of shipment. All non-document shipments must be accompanied by a Complete Original Commercial Invoice, except the shipments which are subject of Temporary Customs control and samples under 150 € Although FedEx provide the maximum amount of clearance services allowed by law, Customs require some clearance-related documents to be provided or issued by the recipient. Additional charges may apply. Click below for further information.
